Robert Hansen, a lifelong Northwest native, is a novel writer and humorist. His slice-of-life column, Snippets of Life ran for five years in the county-wide, daily newspaper. Robert’s first book, Why Can’t Women Understand Men, We’re so Simple, was published December 2002, by AMG Publishers, Chattanooga, TN. Baker Trittin Press, Winona Lake, IN, published Robert’s first novel in 2006, The Bully’s Doom—A Whisperer’s Tale.

Robert has served as a conference teacher and is the current director of Writer’s Weekend at the Beach conference, which is held each March at Ocean Park, Washington.

In addition to his writing, he currently grows Christmas trees and owns a wholesale nursery. Robert and his wife, Sherry have been married for thirty-five years and have raised four children. They are now at the grandparenting stage of life, having three such gems and another on the way.

My past times include reading. My favorite author is Robert Hansen. He’s quite creative. His scenes are vivid and unusual; his characters so real that I expect to meet them at the mall.

Back to me. My friends tell me I must have an adventurous soul. I do seem to find myself in many unusual situations. I’ve survived an earthquake, a nuclear explosion, and an encounter with a huge snake. I’ve built my own world-class telescope from scratch, and discovered fossil evidence of the much-rumored “Dino-Deer.” I even considered a career as a professional skateboarder. Many of these have been witnessed and recorded in the photos taken by Robert Hansen—did I mention what a fine author he is? These pictures are posted regularly on his blog, which I like to call, “Bob’s Glob.”

I can’t say I much like the publicity I receive, but I do enjoy sitting by the computer as Robert Hansen plunks away at the keyboard, creating amazing stories. Of course I’m allowed to give my advice on various grammar and plot points. But these are only spit and polish on already shining boots.

As for my other interests, I delight in rain storms. Getting wet makes me smell so good. I know I’m supposed to enjoy long walks on the beach, but I’ve never quite seen the point. But I do enjoy slurping a steamy mug of hot chocolate. But what I enjoy even more is reading a novel by Robert Hansen. They’re thrilling and mysterious at the same time.

Well, I guess that’s all there is to know about me. If I think of anything else, I’ll have Robert Hansen include it in future glob entries, which he will do in between writing brilliant passages in his latest novel.
